About Us

OUR LEADERSHIP
DS Learning has been successfully providing services for more than four years with the mission of improving the quality of instruction for students throughout California. We have served thousands of students in their homes, at a public libraries or in community centers by partnering with districts and schools. We are committed to delivering the highest quality targeted supplemental education after school, in the evening and on the weekends. Our record shows that our personalized approach has improved our students’ test scores in all subjects and grade levels.

DS Learning is led by educators with more than 60 years of experience in teaching and administering public schools. We hold degrees in education, including Master’s degrees, Administrative Credentials, and bilingual certifications. We are professional educators serious about helping your student achieve!

WE:

• partner with parents to strengthen the support network for students struggling in math and reading-language arts.
• deliver instruction through one-to-one personalized lessons based on your student’s needs.

Our administrative offices are located in Lancaster, CA.
Our coordinators and tutors are located throughout California. We hold regular trainings and travel to meet with tutors in person to ensure they are delivering the best service to you, our family!


OUR TUTORS
DS Learning tutors meet or exceed all state requirements. A majority of our tutors hold degrees from universities or have been or are current successful classroom teachers. Many of our tutors are bilingual and they all pass strict background clearance checksWe select our tutors for their:

• expertise in math and English language arts
• experience working with students in grades K-12
• professionalism in being punctual, organized, and positive
  
  

OUR CURRICULUM
DS Learning makes learning fun!All lessons begin with a hands-on activity to engage the student in the concept. We use colorful and fun materials such as student white boards with markers, dice, play money, dominoes, letter tiles, linking cubes, molding clay and more. Tutors determine prior knowledge and transition to teaching and guided practice using white boards or paper and pencil.

More guided and independent practice is accomplished using state-approved standards-based supplemental materials through the CDE and the following publishers:

• Holt McDougall/Harcourt
• Scholastic
• Spectrum Test Prep
• Kaplan.

We believe that the calm, personalized environment away from the crowded classroom where the student has the full attention of the tutor is one of the best assets to our program. Our expert tutors use the gold-standard materials and strategies to enrich your student’s educational experience!
